- This archive contains two versions of my "Getting Started with TCP/IP
- on Ham Radio" manual (soon to be a major motion picture...).
-
- "Getting Started..." is intended to be a self-contained guide for hams
- who have used packet radio, but are just getting their feet wet with NOS.
- Hopefully, it provides English-language documentation to serve as a first
- step for those to whom the reference manual is a bit obtuse.
-
- The document was originally written with Word for Windows, and included a
- fair amount of fancy formatting.
-
- INTRONOS.RTF is stored in Rich Text Format, which many modern word processors
- can import and export. It preserves all the nifty stuff in the original.
-
- INTRONOS.TXT is an ASCII version of the document. It loses all the bold type,
- underlining, etc., that make the original easier to read.
-
- On the other hand, it ought to be very easy to display on the screen or print
- on just about any ASCII device. It includes only tabs, formfeeds, linefeeds,
- and carriage returns as control characters; has the formfeeds spaced at no
- more than 59 lines; and has a left margin (using a tab character) designed to
- allow printing on 3-hole punch paper.
-
- The obligatory notice: INTRONOS.TXT is copyright 1992 by John R. Ackermann,
- Jr. Permission is given for non-commercial copying, distribution, and use.
-
- I welcome suggestions and corrections; I plan to update INTRONOS regularly,
- and will be happy to incorporate your feedback. If you want to distribute a
- modified version of the document, you may do so, but you must a) take credit
- (or blame...) for your changes, and b) provide me with a copy of the changes.
